Artesia Municipal Court uses its own official court page and payment link for Artesia city tickets. Loving Municipal Court accepts payment by mail or east-side overnight drop box. Carlsbad Municipal Court must be contacted for city cases.
- Read the citation and identify the citing agency, court name, due date, and whether penalty assessment or court appearance is checked.
- For District or Magistrate cases, use Case Lookup for public case activity and Fines and Fees for eligible payments.
- For Artesia Police tickets, use Artesia Municipal Court channels; for Eddy County Sheriff's Office tickets near Artesia, the Artesia FAQ routes payment to Artesia Magistrate Court.

Eddy County Traffic Citations in Artesia
Artesia Municipal Court is the most detailed municipal traffic source in the research. It handles violations of city ordinances within Artesia city limits. Judge Sarah Gallegos is listed as Municipal Judge. The court payment and contact page lists 3300 W. Main, Suite A, Artesia, NM 88210, phone 575-746-9401, and fax 575-746-9678 for proof submissions. The Artesia traffic citations page says penalty-assessment payment is due in full within 30 days from citation date if the penalty assessment box is signed. Not all citations are payable. Some require arraignment or hearing. The proof-dismissal channel applies to no insurance, no driver's license, and no registration or plate issues if proof was valid at the stop. Proof can be sent by fax, mail, or in person with a citation copy.
Artesia's rules are specific enough that a driver should not assume every traffic citation can be paid online or converted into a court appearance.
Eddy County Traffic Payment Routing
Payment channel is not proof that every traffic record issue is resolved. MVD traffic ticket guidance says if "Penalty Assessment" is checked, the person should pay using the options stated on the ticket. If "Court Appearance" or "Traffic Arraignment" is checked, the person must appear in the specified court by the date listed. Failure to appear can cause the court to issue a bench warrant and may cause license suspension when renewing. Eddy County Traffic Court Actions

Those topics show why a person should verify the court obligation before assuming a ticket is finished. The Artesia local rule also states that municipal penalty-assessment citations will not be changed to a court appearance. That is a local rule from the city court source, not a general rule for every Eddy County traffic venue.

If a traffic matter has become a warrant or suspension problem, payment alone may not recall the warrant or restore the license without court and MVD follow-up.
Eddy County Municipal Traffic Courts
Carlsbad Municipal Court handles Carlsbad municipal petty misdemeanor, traffic, and code or ordinance matters inside city limits. Loving hours are Tuesday and Thursday 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-4 p.m.; arraignments are Tuesday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 8 a.m.; trials are Thursday at 9 a.m. Payments can be mailed to the P.O. box or placed in the overnight drop box on the east side of the building.
Municipal traffic records are where the state Case Lookup limits become important. The public-access research says municipal data in Case Lookup is limited, so a municipal citation may require the city court directly. That is especially true for city ordinance cases, local bench warrants, proof dismissal, payment plans, and hearing dates.
Eddy County Traffic Court Visits
When a traffic citation requires court appearance, plan for court security and local rules. Eddy County Court vs MVD Records
The court traffic record and the state driver record are separate files. A court record shows the case, citation, plea, disposition, fines, fees, warrants, and orders. The MVD driver history shows official driving record history for the past three years through the online service. It is used for license status, convictions, suspensions, insurance needs, employer needs, and certified or non-certified driver history. A court case may exist before a driver record updates, and a driver record may show license consequences after the court reports a conviction or failure.

Eddy County Driver History Fees
MVD driver history fees are state fees, not county court copy fees. The online MVD system lists a non-certified driver record and a certified driver record. It also lets a person retrieve a previously purchased record for 30 days. The system requires payment and identity information during purchase, including credit card, date of birth, last six digits of SSN, nine-digit driver license number, and valid email. The certification checkbox refers to authorization under NMSA 1978 Section 66-2-7.1 and DPPA, with civil and criminal penalties for misuse.

Eddy County DWI and CDL Records
DWI and DUI traffic cases can be criminal matters, and New Mexico Magistrate and Municipal Courts both hear DWI/DUI within their jurisdiction. District Court may handle serious or felony traffic-related cases and appeals.
